What is Dance RPG and why you should play it

Hi all. There might be some of you who know me on Facebook and saw my status that I was working on a project for 9 hours that day and another 10 next day. Well, dRPG (Dance RPG/Dace Off) is not that project čśÇ

OK, I’ll be short and quick. I used to be a hardcore gamer a few years ago. 6 years ago I lunched my first game called Hero Town. I had to close it due to server problems and it was emtpy really … however, the game, content wise, was super rich and it had months of months of gameplay if you wanted to complete it fully … which was impossible anyway as I was adding new stuff from time to time. That’s past now and I dislike dwelling in it.

So, what does Lindyverse, Hero Town and dRPG have in common? Not much really except that dRPG is RPG game where main basis is lindy hop … just like this blog. This category on this blog will be official dRPG blog category that may or may not feature lots of posts regarding the game in the future … I will share my insights, goals and thoughts about the game or future development of dRPG here.

The purpose of the game … just like in any game, you want to become the best … dancer … I know there is not much you can do right now and I don’t like energy based games anyway. I added energy so that you don’t have to take much of your valuable time to play this game and yet you have the same chance to be the best just like those people who have lots of time …

Anyway, main features of the game … or should I say main future-features lol:

  • Work – obviously, you will need to earn money to attend classes, etc … just like in real life … ;(
  • Train – attend classes to start dancing … it will be boring until you reach level 5 where the awesomeness starts … I will be adding workshops and camps so you can improve much faster but those will not be always possible … just like in real life … there are classes everyday but workshops don’t happen that often …
  • Battle – dance off against dancers … these are not other players, they are bots-kind-of … these will give more experience than classes but they will also cost money …
  • Battle players (PVP) – jam against another player … 1 on 1.
  • Social dance – I don’t know how this feature is going to work but something like 20-30 players dance together and obciously gain massive experience …
  • Competitions – this will be big. There will be Jack and Jill competitions and Strictly competitions. There might be Jack and Jill troupe competitions where people will be randomly assigned to a troupe and they will compete … or something …
  • Troupes – you will be able to create your own or join another troupe. This will be just like clans or guilds in your classic RPGs. There you may dance off against other troupes, do troupe performance to win game cash and experience and increase troupe fame … or something.
  • Outfit – I will be integrating outfit as gear in classic RPGs. I am not entirely sure how this is going to work yet but maybe the better the outfit, the more experience you will gain or something …
  • Random events – such as random social dance event or international teachers arrive in the game and they teach cool stuff and you gain massive experience for a lot of cash.
  • Other cool stuff – other awesome stuff …

I don’t know how but this game is going to be superb. I have marketing plan in place as well hehe.

OK, got there: http://www.dancerpg.com and start training.

See ya!
