Hello all … continuing my post-LLX awesomeness, I went to CJAM. It has been a while since I have been dancing there to live bands and yesterday was just as epic as LLX 2015 but much shorter …
Look, as always, I must complain about traffic. It was strong … strong winds made my car go from side to side on the motorway. The journey home was more pleasant though.
The evening was awesome. I had many dances with old friends and new. Honestly, I don’t think I had ever blogged about CJAM before. It is really cool venue. Relatively large. Floor is just perfect. Not too slippery and not really grippy. They don’t have too many chairs or tables to take up the dancing space. They also have additional rooms for either bags or practicing certain moves (I guess?). They had the bar upstairs which was cool.
CJAM had live band. They had Shirt Tail Stompers (another favourite band of mine, yes, I have a few now) with a special guest Gordon Webster (yes, he is in my favourites now as well). He made appearance at LLX and I truly enjoyed how Gordon manages to engage with the crowd. He was hillarious (I think some American jokes are better than British even though I live in the UK for 9 years now)!
The music was perfect. They played my favourite tempo – medium/fast – ish. I tried slow lindy and I suppose I didn’t look too bad but now I got 6 hours blues workshop on Sunday so I will start blues’ing soon. The dance floor was just packed and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere. To be perfectly honest, I always enjoy atmosphere at CJAM! The DJ music (not necessarily live music) is also perfect – my kind of tempo where I can dance to pretty much every song they play!
This was truly amazing 2 hours social dancing event. I am sorry that this post is short but I thought I had to tell people how amazing last CJAM was!
… til’ next time friends.
