Hi all! It’s been a while since I blogged about actual dancing … I probably say this every time I blog lol.
First of all, I would like to announce a highlight of the blog. We reached over 50 fans on Facebook! YEAH!
Anyway, yesterday was a fabulous night at Charlie Wright’s venue. I believe I have blogged about it before but not on this occassion where it was held by London Swing Dance Society.
Anyway, the venue is quite small but it is lovely! Event called Swing at Charlie’s always happens on first Friday of every month … or should I say it used to happen? Sadly, Charlie Wright is closing for refurbishment but I heard good things about the change – they will have more space to dance so I guess it’s OK to sacrifice something great for something AMAZING!
Anyway, at this event they always have The Broken Swing Band playing live and the event is truly cheap! Just £5 for social dancing … or £8 if you take the class. I did not attend the class, I just went for socials.
My dancing highlight was that I was following for half of two songs as we switched the roles in the middle. It was an interesting experience. It was fun. I prefer leading though … xD
In the middle of the night we had fully packed dance floor. Maybe 12-15 couples were dancing. It was a bit hard but it was OK. The songs the band plays are medium tempo. I truly love the band. They are one of my favourites!
I know that this blog post is quite short compared to the most posts I write but I guess it’s right to the point! Once Charlie Wright reopens again, I will be regular … just like I’ve always been. And yeah, I got to the place without sat nav! Guess what? I even got home without sat nav!
Oh, we had shim sham and stuff 😀
