Kicking Off Christmas Dancing Marathon With Jiveswing Welwyn

Hi,

First of all, I would like to apologise for not blogging on Tuesday/Wednesday. I successfully finished my 6-day marathon on Tuesday, unfortunately, I was a bit sad that day for personal reasons (something not sharing with swing community as this problem affected my personal stuff and it’s not like you give a damn about problems right? ๐Ÿ˜€ ) so I didn’t blog. Then I fixed my problems on Wednesday and I am back to normal but had lots of work to do on Wednesday so I couldn’t blog again. This morning I started on my 3,000 words essay, already did like third of it today. Going to spend all Friday writing it, hopefully to get to 2,500 words … and because of this essay I am going to sacrifice Sugar Push Christmas Party on Sunday afternoon but if I do well with my essay, I might go to Swing Pit. I will not miss Christmas Party on Saturday of course since I already got ticket and got my gear to wear (look, it rhymes? ๐Ÿ˜€ ). Anyway, that’s all about me not blogging on Tuesday. I might tell you what we learned on Tuesday but not in this post.

Anyway, today was a good day at Jiveswing! I wore my Santa wig and beard and felt a bit odd ๐Ÿ˜€ Anyway, in the first class we had role reversal … oh no … I was following ๐Ÿ™ You know, I had this ‘soft’ argument about following being easy (you know who you are ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and I must admit and apologise for that … following is BLOODY HARD. That rock stepping on the right leg is a pain in the right leg and all that spinning just going way off the line … at least I got twists right?? Yeah, they told me I did them well and I had my beard removed since it was quite annoying as I couldn’t breath properly and then could not talk at all as hair would just get in my mouth which made it even worse. I had this wig though … I looked like a girl especially when I was following … I unleashed my feminine side ๐Ÿ™ OK, enough about following, not going to follow again unless I have to like today …

Then we had a break of quite a few songs … didn’t dance, had coffee, chatted quite a lot …

… then the second class started. OK, it wasn’t lindy hop … it wasn’t Charleston, it wasn’t jazz … it was Swango! Yes, Swing Tango. I, however, didn’t recognise any swing moves so I suppose we did Tango but what would I know? Anyway, I can’t comment much about it since it was something new and I am not likely to dance it again … no, it wasn’t that bad, I just prefer jazz, Charleston and lindy hop.

Anyway, socials started after that. Had some great dances, did shim sham stroll, had a lot of chat and what not before I went home. I couldn’t slide today unfortunately, I need to buy a new pair of shoes since I torn my old ones due too much stomping off … ๐Ÿ˜€ There were lots of photos taken, I think I am going to put them on my Facebook profile, fan page or even blog, etc …

Anyway, see you on Saturday Christmas Party ๐Ÿ™‚
