It’s A Swing Thing Upstairs At The Ritzy

Hi all, to be honest, originally, I thought I would be swungover on Saturday and very hungover today (yes, actually hungover) but I was wrong. I was swungover yesterday indeed but not really hungover today. In fact, today is a very productive day for me. You see, I visited my non-dancing friends yesterday so┬á I thought I wouldn’t be able to work because of that. I still had really good time even though I wasn’t drinking as much as I planned (yeah, I have to plan that now that I get older day by day). I also realised that with time, my bowel cannot keep up with my drinking pace čśÇ

OK, this is not the blog where I tell everybody about my deepest and darkest secrets. The event on Friday night was just superb! Look, I received more compliments that day than in entire dancing career of mine altogether. We had a smashing time with smashing band and then we had some other shenanigans.

First of all, I’d like to say that we had a birthday jam. We kind-of-blues’ed or so I thought. What I really did was my infamous crazy legs with jazzy hand (one-handed as I was connected with the other) and everybody cheered for that as if we were doing some advanced aerial move. Then she sang. You know that song “Fever” by Peggy Lee? Her voice … well, you know sometimes you get those goose bumps all over your body and arms? Yeah, she had that kind of voice. Then she sang other 2 songs equally amazingly but I cannot remember which ones. We had another jam for a couple for anniversary or something. It was swing jam, not blues-kind-of-jam.

We also had shim sham. And then we had a lot of non lindy hoppers so we had some rock and roll music which was fun for a change but a lot of people were solo raving and clubbing, not much space to properly dance authentic dances. We also had this kind of Caribbean routine, really simple and all.

We also had a massive selfie session with a lot of failed photos. So, as always, I am putting only 2, best groupies/photos we made.

P.S. As you probably noticed, I started tagging people on Facebook. Yes, I know I may have promised to never out people on my blog but I think those people I blog about or events I blog about, deserve to have a good word out. I do not blog about negative things as you probably noticed and I do always have people’s permission to out them. That being said, if you ever want to have a groupie with me and be tagged on Facebook, just find me wherever I might be and demand a selfie/groupie and a tag on Facebook! I’ll take photos with my phone as I will need them to post on the blog.

Oh, don’t forget to “fan” and follow Lindiverse on Facebook and Twitter!
