I do realise that I have missed a few blog posts. It was not because I didn’t enjoy them. In fact, I enjoyed everywhere I went – Mouthful O Jam the Easter special, David McTea at the Monarch (where I had a “showcase” dance with amazing dancer!), Nighthawks (amazing time I had) and dancing at Cannonbury pub to “The Silver Ghosts”. The silver ghosts are really amazing band and I love them and I shall start following their gigs … I just wish there were more lindy hoppers dancing to their music.
Anyway, last Thursday I went to David’s gig at the Dr Low Medicine Currates … something … or someone 😀 It’s at Hideaway bar in North London and it took me around 40 minutes to get there. I won’t complain about driving. As far as I can remember, it was great, zero traffic and all. On my way home, I decided to shut down my sat nav and go home using my sixth sense … it turned out that I had to pull my sat nav again and use it to get home xD
You all probably already know that I love David McTea’s band. They play just awesome music. They were accompanied by equally amazing singer and tap dancer Clemence. Her voice is just mesmerising. You wouldn’t expect that for sure! It was awesome. And then she danced tap. It was great! You know I had taken tap dance course and couple of workshops. I even blogged about it here, here and here. I believe it was 4 weeks course and I somehow managed to skip blogging about last part … anyway, from what I tried, without a doubt, I must say that tap dancing is hard and I remember my feet hurt a bit since I had no tap shoes … and I didn’t plan on attending that course anyway, I decided like 3 hours before it started. I just sat in my car and got to the venue.
Now that you know that the band is great, the atmosphere was also great. We had about 3 followers and about 10 leaders … (no, not 10, a bit less, maybe 8 :D). It was quite chilling and lots of break we had. I don’t know why girls got sweaty and all … 😀
The venue itself was great! It’s slippery but it’s great for practicing the slides. That’s exactly what I do at Mouthful O Jam events. The dance floor is quite small. I mean, very small but it’s OKAY for so many dancers. Floor craft is great.
I believe it sums up this event and how awesome it is. I am sorry for not blogging for 2 weeks but I do have my own life and work besides dancing unfortunately.
And as always, a proper photo!
