Hey all! So yesterday I did it again – I did what I had done it once in my lifetime – I … wait for it … attended … wait for it … three … wait for it … events! See what I just did there? 😀
I remember that last summer I attended 3 events in one day – jazz festival in Newington Green, then I headed to the Victoria park for Down for the Count gig and then I went to Red Rhythm. Yesterday, I went to Dance on the Gardens, Brixton Bounce and Swing Pit.
So my day started with my heavy breakfast – I had 2 burgers … 2 DELICIOUS HOME MADE BURGERS! Then it took me over 1.5 hours to get to Greenwich. Yes, I had some traffic right after I left home and then a bit of traffic on M11 where it emerges into A406 … you know that bit where 3 lanes emerge into 2? Yes, there is always traffic on that bit. And then massive traffic in Greenwich. I made it nevertheless.
Then I had a few amazing dances at the festival. It was the first time I danced outdoors this year. There were classes going on. We also had another area for dancing with great music from Mouthful O’ Jam DJs. However, as awesome as it may sound, we had rubbish dance floor … if you can call it that way anyway. It was concrete and tiles were uneven and very rough. We could easily fall or damage our knees. If they had a wooden floor or some portable dance floor which would make softer floor it would be way better. Perhaps next time? Also, it started raining at around 4 PM. I left at 4 PM for Brixton Bounce.
I know that I made it there at around 5 PM so I still had 1 more hour to dance. It was amazing. Probably best event of all 3. If it wasn’t for rain, I wouldn’t have gone to BB and would have stayed until outside dancing finished. Well, I did what I did and I cannot change that now … it’s not like I regret it 😀
So Brixton Bounce takes place in Dogstar pub. It was my first time at this venue. I have never been to Brixton Bounce before. I really love the name of the street – “Coldharbour” 😀 The venue is lovely. Decent size and the dance floor is just amazing. They have opened windows that work as fans. Great DJ music, my kind of style. We had birthday jam of 3 ladies but I missed it unfortunately.
Then I had some food and headed to swing pit. Swing pit was quite busy. I have seen it even busier but it was the kind of busy where you couldn’t really swing out in the middle area. I like the atmosphere and the venue itself however, it has been ages since I was at Swing Pit last time. It hasn’t changed much lol. They had great music and people.
In all events I attended yesterday, I met old and new friends. It was great … just another day out and about …
